Frequently Asked Questions
How Your Water Bill Works
We bill once a month. Your bill is always based on the water you used in the previous month, so you must use the water before we bill for it.
Bills are due by the 10th of each month. Late notices are sent as a courtesy, but any account that is past due is subject to disconnection. Past due water accounts may be assessed a $50 delinquent fee and cut off without further notice.
Understanding Tiered Rates
- Minimum monthly bill: $30.00 (includes your first 2,000 gallons)
- Usage from 2,001 to 6,000 gallons: $4.50 per 1,000 gallons
- Usage above 6,000 gallons: $5.50 per 1,000 gallons
Example:
If you used 7,000 gallons last month, your bill would be calculated like this:
Charge Type | Gallons | Rate | Calculation | Total |
---|---|---|---|---|
Base Rate | First 2,000 | $30 (includes 2,000 gal) | $30.00 | |
Tier 1 Usage | 4,000 (2,001–6,000) | $4.50 per 1,000 gallons | 4 x $4.50 | $18.00 |
Tier 2 Usage | 1,000 (6,001–7,000) | $5.50 per 1,000 gallons | 1 x $5.50 | $5.50 |
Total Bill | $53.50 |
